Job Summary

Vanguard EMS, Inc. is seeking a skilled Test Technician to join our team. As a Test Technician, you will be responsible for testing and debugging products in accordance with directions from Vanguard and its customer.

The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in computer systems, including MS Excel, Office, and Outlook. They will also have 1 year of electronic test experience at this level, knowledge of multiple test equipment platforms, and knowledge of computer languages such as C++, VHDL, and LabVIEW.

The Test Technician will be responsible for operating HP and other automated test equipment, debugging ATE board failures, and coordinating test/debug schedules. They will also assist with New Product Introductions (NPIs) and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to prioritize work in a quickly changing environment, and have excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate HP and other automated test equipment
  • Debug ATE board failures and coordinate test/debug schedules
  • Assist with New Product Introductions (NPIs) and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Analyze and track data and engineering/customer interface
  • Train operators and test functionality of products
  • Troubleshoot and repair those products that fail testing
  • Collect quality and technical data
  • Communicate quality problems to appropriate production team(s)
  • Communicate with customers concerning technical or quality issues
  • Participate in theory training of new products and team problem-solving meetings
  • Rework circuit boards when needed and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in computer systems, including MS Excel, Office, and Outlook
  • 1 year of electronic test experience at this level
  • Knowledge of multiple test equipment platforms
  • Knowledge of computer languages such as C++, VHDL, and LabVIEW
  • Efficiently read schematics from multiple sources
  • High-level critical thinking, attention to detail, analysis, and ability to multi-task and learn quickly
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, problem-solving abilities, team spirit, and a "hands-on" mentality
  • Organization, thoroughness, and ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or quality
  • Communicate in person, over the phone, email, internet, or in writing in a positive, professional manner
  • Demonstrated core competencies through successful completion of the Vanguard Test Technician Exam
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize work in a quickly changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers
