Position Summary:

The Logistics Route Optimization Specialist is tasked with the strategic coordination and effective utilization of drivers, vehicles, and containers to enhance capacity, boost productivity, and guarantee prompt, courteous service to all clients. This role also encompasses the execution and delivery of safety protocols, customer experience enhancement, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in shaping the short and long-term routing strategy for IWS.
  • Gather, interpret, and analyze diverse logistics data, including inventory and asset reliability, to inform decisions that improve routing accuracy.
  • Design and sequence routes that are operationally sound and efficient to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor missed pickups, service commitments, and efficiency targets, striving to meet or exceed established expectations.
  • Implement a consistent set of dynamic routing principles to guide route development.
  • Assess driver performance issues and recommend corrective measures to management.
  • Adjust daily routing information proactively and efficiently to enhance standardization and accuracy.
  • Oversee daily routing operations, addressing issues to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Evaluate opportunities for swing routes and ensure all potential options are identified.
  • Analyze trends in swing percentages with supervisors to assess improvements.
  • Adapt to unexpected challenges and modify plans in real-time.
  • Understand daily disposal strategies to identify optimal disposal sites for loads, ensuring driver accountability.
  • Engage in quarterly discussions regarding disposal plans with management and update as necessary.
  • Review monthly service areas and permanent customer lists to balance stops based on peak demand.
  • Provide drivers with insights on customer interactions to prevent future service failures.
  • Determine if requests can be expedited to enhance efficiency while ensuring excellent customer experiences.
  • Update customer geocoding regularly to improve routing effectiveness.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, performing additional job-related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Familiarity with routing software and logistics/supply chain ERP systems is highly preferred.

Salary Range:
Minimum: USD $70,000.00/Yr.
