Position OverviewUnder the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer, the Rheumatologist will provide specialized medical care to patients.
As a key provider and leader at Family Health Centers of San Diego, you will embody a commitment to delivering compassionate, affordable, and high-quality healthcare, particularly to uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved individuals.
You will thrive in a dynamic environment, managing a caseload of patients with chronic conditions, and making a meaningful difference in the community daily.
Collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure excellence in medical services and supervision of mid-level providers will be essential.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately and promptly complete all necessary documentation in line with departmental standards and electronic medical record requirements.
- Adhere to FHCSD policies and procedures, including timely submission of credentialing and licensing documents, maintaining required CME units, and attending mandatory meetings.
- Exhibit effective communication and respectful interactions with colleagues and patients, upholding FHCSD's behavioral standards.
- Meet productivity expectations set by medical leadership.
- Conduct thorough assessments of medical information to support health promotion and disease prevention.
- Flexibly meet the needs of the clinic site and organization, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Engage in the Clinical Outcomes Program to achieve organizational targets.
- Participate in administrative tasks, including managing lab reports and medication refills.
- Be available for on-call duties as required.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Must possess the ability to travel within San Diego County as necessary.
Driver Requirements:
Active Class C California driver's license and proof of liability insurance required. Candidates should have no more than 2 points on their driving record in the past year and no suspensions for moving violations in the last two years.
Board certification in Rheumatology and a DEA license are mandatory. Candidates must be graduates of accredited medical schools and hold an unrestricted license to practice in California.
Experience and Skills:
A minimum of one year of experience in Rheumatology is required, with preference given to those with experience serving underserved populations. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse patient groups and possess basic computer skills for electronic medical record documentation. Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish are highly desirable, along with cultural sensitivity.
The role involves frequent bending, lifting, and walking, with occasional driving and exposure to various medical environments.
Compensation:
In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $275,000 to $340,000. Final compensation will be determined based on geographic location, skills, education, and experience, with a focus on internal equity among team members.
