Position Title: Safety and Security Lead - Overnight Shift

Department: Safety & Security

Division: Facilities

Classification: Non-Exempt

Direct Report: Senior Manager, Safety and Security

Position Overview

The Safety and Security Lead is accountable for executing the policies and procedures of the security department during their assigned shift in the absence of the Supervisor. This role involves assisting the Supervisor with the operational requirements of the department. Key responsibilities include overseeing personnel during daily operations, conducting routine inspections of both the interior and exterior of the facility, and providing training support as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delegate tasks and oversee security personnel assigned to the shift.
  2. Assist in formulating operational policies and procedures.
  3. Offer training support to staff.
  4. Conduct safety inspections.
  5. Review and approve written incident reports.
  6. Ensure adherence to departmental policies.
  7. Collaborate with contractors, event companies, and other departments.
  8. Engage in management training and development programs.
  9. Acknowledge staff contributions.
  10. Support the establishment of goals and objectives for the organization.
  11. Perform additional duties as required by workload.
Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  2. A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a security-related role is required.
  3. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills are essential.
  4. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  5. Must handle sensitive, confidential, and high-pressure situations professionally.
  6. Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) in various contexts.
  7. Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
  8. Successful completion of designated supervisory training courses is required.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time, and the noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
