Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our rapid prototyping operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all activities related to operations, including direct and coordinate activities of STS Operations departments, ensuring operational effectiveness and efficiency of the development operations, and teaming with other key area managers to effectively execute the overall manufacturing plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement production and quality control standards to ensure conformance to the company quality system in accordance with customer and company requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a well-trained and cross-trained staff in all production departments to effectively execute required work orders.
  • Coordinate facility changes, including design, layout, personnel planning, training, and all aspects of managing a development manufacturing factory.
  • Develop and manage budgets and cost controls to ensure all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are measured and mitigations implemented when variances occur.
  • Provide guidance on personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, and facility and equipment needs.
  • Coordinate activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Perform administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
  • Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Train and ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations and security requirements.
  • Work with program office and engineering to ensure conforming products are delivered on schedule.
  • Develop plans to optimize STS manufacturing facility and develop process improvement through interaction with manufacturing engineers, lead technicians, and shop technicians.
  • Provide production time estimates, staffing requirements, and related cost to provide information for management decisions and proposal support.
  • Provide visible and effective leadership, motivating and inspiring others to achieve individual and organizational objectives.
  • Quickly assess and develop talent to build team and operational bench strength.
  • Ensure safety requirements are met.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 10 plus years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance/access approval at the appropriate level (Active Clearance Preferred).
Physical Requirements
  • Office and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with General Safety Training guidelines.
  • May work extended hours or weekends.
Travel Requirements
  • 0-25% - May be required to travel between Kratos locations.
