Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at NYU Langone Medical Associates - Oakdale. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the RN in the care of patients and families by completing assigned patient care tasks in accordance with the NYS LPN scope of practice and NYULH policy.
- Provide competent, safe, and compassionate care with emphasis on an understanding of the challenges faced by patients and their families.
- Collect patient healthcare data systematically and on an ongoing basis using appropriate assessment techniques and instruments.
- Enforce adherence to NYULH and FGP policies and procedures and standards, including but not limited to HIPAA Compliance and Human Resources.
- Participate in coordination of unit activities to provide patient care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
- Engage in self-assessment and participate in activities to promote own professional growth and development.
- Obtain patient vital signs, weights, EKGs as needed, and perform blood collection/phlebotomy as needed.
- Administer medications, including injections, in accordance with NYULMC clinical guidelines and NYS Scope of Practice.
- Assist with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas, and assist in escorting patients.
- Maintain an awareness of current patient-centered evidence-based practices and use knowledge of applicable research data in provision of patient care.
- Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team and promote collegial relationships.
- Assist patients and communicate with licensed providers to obtain prescription renewals as needed.
- Perform patient-related functions as directed by the Licensed Provider and/or Registered Nurse (RN) and document properly.
- Graduate of LPN program with current NYS OP LPN licensure and registration.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently and thrive in a team work environment that pursues a positive patient care experience.
- Physical stamina, manual dexterity, visual, and aural acuity to perform responsibilities needed.
- BLS certification preferred.
