Job Title: Bulk Material Handler

Barrett Petfood Innovations is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bulk Material Handler to join our team in the Mill. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of bulk trailers and trailers within the yard area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage bulk trailers and trailers within the yard area, ensuring correct location and tracking.
  • Unload and transfer bulk material as directed by the Mill Lead.
  • Count, check, and annotate location and weights of bulk trailers for Milling operations.
  • Take photos of incoming shipments and document damages to receive credit on merchandise.
  • Perform various maintenance on yard tractors to ensure operations and operational safety.
  • Relay information to Mill Manager and Leads regarding problems, safety concerns, or suggestions.
  • Report, document, and repair any discrepancies found within your work area.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure quality specifications are being met.
  • Complete necessary paperwork of shift findings and tasks performed with detail.
  • Comply with safety policies, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
  • Complete all quality assurance documentation and mill parameter documentation.
  • Able to follow policies and procedures in conducting job tasks.
  • Able to work with a team and independently.
  • Facilitate shift to shift communication.
  • Report all items of interest to the Mill Manager or Shift Lead and keep the best interests of Barrett Petfood at hand.
  • Must be able to use forklift and boom lift, can be trained onsite.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including email.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Class A license is desired but not required.
Work Environment:

This job operates in a manufacturing warehouse environment. The environment is non-climate controlled, and flour dust is abundant. Applicants must be able to comply with personal protective equipment on the manufacturing floor.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms overhead and grip; climb stairs and ladders; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 75 pounds.

Salary: $24 per hour (1st shift, weekend) / $25 per hour (2nd shift, weekend)

Hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 1st shift (4am-4pm) / 2nd shift (4pm-4am)
