Job Summary

We are seeking a Security Ambassador to join our team at Long Beach Public Transit. As a Security Ambassador, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our customers and employees. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and make a positive impact on our community.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor public transit buses and bus stops to ensure the safety and security of customers and employees.
  • Enforce public transit rules and regulations.
  • Verify passenger fares and clear buses and bus stops of loitering or transients.
  • Work in pairs with another team member to conduct daily patrols and duties.
  • Provide excellent customer service and de-escalate conflicts with the general public.
  • Work well with other members of a team and be willing to obtain additional certifications, such as CPR, First Aid, Baton, and pepper Spray.

Requirements

  • Valid CA guard card license.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of previous experience in the security industry.
  • Additional certifications, such as CPR, First Aid, Baton, and pepper Spray.
  • Ability to walk/stand for entire duration of shift.
  • Ability to work outside in the elements.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to de-escalate conflict with the general public.
  • Ability to work well with other members of a team.
  • Bilingual is preferred but not required.
