Principal - Tech Biz Dev Lead

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal to join our Battery Category team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading strategic sourcing, technology road mapping, and industry enabling for battery-related platforms.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to drive the lowest total cost of ownership for battery-related platforms.
- Partner with engineering teams to deliver next-generation batteries for backup power in AWS datacenters.
- Identify and evaluate new and developed battery chemistries to power AI/ML applications.
- Lead sourcing engagements and sourcing teams in opportunity identification and RFIs where appropriate.
- Negotiate and implement supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business.
- Minimum of 7 years of strategic sourcing experience in high technology.
- Minimum of 7 years of related supply chain experience.
- 10+ years of professional experience.
- MBA or advanced degree in engineering or other quantitative disciplines.
- Experience in the lithium-ion battery industry manufacturing and supply chain.
- Strong negotiation skills and passion for technology.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
