Position Overview:

  • Engages in routine tasks that can be learned through on-the-job training.
  • Adheres to work instructions provided both verbally and in written form.
  • Collaborates closely with the Food Service Supervisor to uphold established quality standards.
  • Organizes food and supplies in dining areas, including refrigerators and storage spaces.
  • Prepares portions of food ahead of meal service for tray assembly.
  • Prepares snacks for residents during evening hours and between meals.
  • Assembles necessary supplies and supplements for distribution.
  • Conducts basic food preparation tasks, such as opening canned goods and assembling simple dishes.
  • Prepares the tray line for meal assembly by activating required equipment.
  • Arranges the tray line with necessary food items, trays, utensils, and identification tags.
  • Assembles meals on trays according to menu specifications and resident preferences.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of pots, pans, dishes, utensils, refrigerators, food carts, and work surfaces.
  • Disposes of waste and soiled linens appropriately.
  • Transports food trucks, snacks, and supplies to and from the dietary area.
  • Performs additional related tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Unloads food and supply deliveries, transporting and stocking items in kitchens, freezers, and storage areas.
  • Plates desserts, prepares salads, and refills condiment containers.
  • Serves hot food items as required.
  • Communicates dietary orders for tray assembly, sets up plates, and delivers trays to the serving area.
  • Cleans and sanitizes cooking utensils, silverware, and dining areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness of refrigerators, food carts, and cooking equipment.
  • Sanitizes countertops and dining furniture.
  • Scrapes dishes, operates dishwashing equipment, and organizes clean items.
  • Cleans floors, walls, and ceilings, including dusting and mopping.
  • Completes related tasks as necessary.

Communication:

  • Participates in departmental meetings as required.
  • Reports any concerns regarding co-workers to the Supervisor on duty, following the established chain of command if issues persist.
  • Engages respectfully with residents during interactions.

General Responsibilities:

  • Upholds ethical standards to ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
