Software Development Professional

We are seeking a motivated Junior Developer to join our team in Overland Park, KS. As a Junior Developer, you will work alongside experienced developers to support and develop API integrations and help enhance the technology platform that powers our industry-leading benefits administration services.
The ideal candidate will have basic experience with API development, testing, and troubleshooting, and a desire to expand their technical skill set.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of RESTful APIs to integrate with various internal and external systems.
- Work with senior developers to implement API endpoints, ensuring data security and compliance with industry standards.
- Help troubleshoot API issues, monitor performance, and provide optimization suggestions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers and client service teams to understand integration requirements.
- Participate in the testing of APIs, including writing unit and integration tests to validate functionality.
- Maintain detailed documentation for API endpoints and integration workflows.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement and scalability of our API services to meet evolving business needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Fundamental knowledge of RESTful API design and architecture.
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Familiarity with API tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar.
- Basic understanding of data formats like JSON and XML.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, technology-driven company.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and containerization tools like Docker is beneficial.
- Familiarity with API security measures such as OAuth, JWT, and TLS.
- Basic experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
