YOUR ROLE

The Software Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for managing the development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of software applications within a for-profit organization utilizing various technologies. The engineering team is tasked with the upkeep and advancement of multiple services/SaaS applications that cater to several business units.

This role will facilitate communication among developers and other leadership, eliminate obstacles, and provide guidance, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities for team members. You will collaborate with other leaders to prioritize the product backlog and ensure adherence to processes by your team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand and fulfill business requirements while guiding the Software Engineering team’s activities.
  • Exemplify the desired culture: a DevOps mindset with a collaborative and agile approach to software development and operations.
  • Ensure team members operate with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with development teams to guarantee the delivery of committed work items.
  • Oversee daily management tasks for direct reports.
  • Assist and lead the team’s program increment and iteration planning, retrospectives, and demonstrations.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with both business and technical personnel in various environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • 4+ years of experience in Software Development Management.
  • Hands-on experience with PHP, .NET, C# preferred, or extensive experience managing teams utilizing these technologies.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and operational principles.
  • Proficient in agile methodologies and principles.
  • Problem-solving capabilities to guide others during development and incidents.
  • Experience with change, problem, and incident management processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to lead a team towards self-organization and influence across all levels of the organization.
