Job Summary:

Hotel Operations Manager - Assistant General Manager

As a key member of the hotel management team, the Assistant General Manager - Hotel Operations will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the hotel. This includes supervising and supporting various departments, such as Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Food Production, Engineering, Accounting, Sales, and Housekeeping.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hotel operations and management, with a proven track record of success in leading teams and driving results. They will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and supporting department heads to ensure seamless hotel operations
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve guest satisfaction and revenue growth
  • Collaborating with the General Manager to create and implement financial reports and forecasts
  • Participating in required M.O.D. coverage and ensuring that training in service standards is taking place in each department
  • Recruiting, hiring, and training for Guest Services based on occupancy

The Assistant General Manager - Hotel Operations will be a strong communicator and leader, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions quickly.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards as required by scheduling
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality's dress code and wearing a nametag when working
  • Comply and ensure adherence to Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Comply with certification requirements as applicable for position, including Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a Rooms or F&B department in a hotel
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Proficient in Windows Operating Systems
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Ability to effectively handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
  • Ability to effectively communicate and convey information and ideas clearly
