About the RoleThe Medical Assistant I will play a critical role in providing care to patients as a member of the care delivery team. This individual will be responsible for performing administrative and clinical functions within patient flow, aligned with established Practice Management Guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting, with experience in an outpatient setting. They will be proficient in EMR systems, preferably EPIC, and have a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care, including rooming patients, taking vitals, injections, urine analysis, EKG, wound care, and ear lavage
- Support and answer telephone calls and messages, triage patients, and administer treatment according to provider orders
- Schedule and confirm appointments, check in patients, and collect co-pays and payments
- Check out patients and assist with after-visit instructions
- Assist with prescription orders, referrals, and authorizations
- Remind patients of overdue services, such as missed appointments, immunizations, labs, and preventative services
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistant
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting, 3+ years preferred
- EMR experience, preferably EPIC
- Specialty experience preferred
