Role Summary
The Capital Markets Manager will report directly to the Director of Capital Markets. This role is integral to a team of high-performing professionals who collaborate closely on Urban Grid's fundraising, treasury, and financial risk management initiatives, as well as support for the company's project development and mergers & acquisitions strategies. This position offers significant opportunities for career advancement within Urban Grid's Capital Markets division.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the structuring, negotiation, and execution of project financing arrangements utilizing various non-recourse structures, including tax equity and debt transactions.
- Participate in M&A due diligence processes, including financial valuation assessments and optimization of capital structures.
- Develop and prepare financial models to support capital market fundraising efforts and acquisition financing opportunities.
- Generate periodic reports for management reporting, policy compliance, and performance evaluation.
- Identify and assess financial risks within the organization and provide strategic recommendations for mitigation.
- Prepare presentations for investors and lenders, analyze proposals, and coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely closure of transactions.
- Support strategic corporate initiatives in collaboration with the senior management team.
- Conduct special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in project finance, leveraged finance, mergers & acquisitions, or renewable energy business development.
- Proficient in advanced Excel functionalities.
- Familiarity with principles of debt and tax equity documentation.
- Experience managing due diligence and closing processes for debt and tax equity partners.
- Proven track record in detailed financial modeling for tax equity and debt transactions, as well as valuation of relevant companies and markets.
- CFA designation or progress towards it is preferred.
- A strong passion for and experience in renewable energy development.
- Expertise in renewable energy project finance modeling is essential.
- Experience in debt and/or tax equity modeling is required.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail and advanced organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A results-oriented mindset with a high degree of initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and time constraints.
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster collaborative relationships across various functional areas.
Location: This position may be based in Urban Grid's New York office with an on-site work schedule or in Houston, TX with a hybrid work arrangement. Occasional travel to other office locations for team meetings may be required.
