Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Opportunity at Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents

Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents is a 110-bed acute care hospital that provides comprehensive medical, behavioral, and educational services to children and adolescents aged 2-22. We are currently seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our team

As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, you will design and implement unit-based recreational experiences for our patients. This is a unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team that includes medical staff, nurses, dietitians, case managers, therapists, and behavioral health counselors. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse population of children and adolescents with chronic illnesses, brain injuries, and neurobehavioral disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement unit-based recreational experiences for patients
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans
  • Provide individualized recreational therapy to patients with varying levels of ability and need
  • Document patient progress and outcomes

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related field of study
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification
