The City of New Bern is seeking a Recreation Program Coordinator to assist with a variety of recreation activities and programs. Key Responsibilities

• Organize recreation activities and programs for youth, adults, and seniors
• Oversee volunteers and part-time aides
• Enforce rules and regulations
• Plan and organize special events, such as banquets and carnivals
• Assist with the registration of participants in recreation programs
• Inventory and maintain equipment
• Train staff and volunteers on City and department policies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation, physical education, or related field
• Experience in athletic, physical education, or therapeutic programs
• Possession of a Commercial Drivers License (P endorsement) or ability to obtain within six months
• First Aid/CPR certification required
