Key Responsibilities:- Manage and resolve issues related to server operating systems and associated infrastructure software and hardware.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring the integrity, security, and availability of infrastructure platforms.
- Conduct capacity assessments, maintain the security posture of systems, and monitor performance metrics.
- Develop standard operating procedures, maintenance documentation, and knowledge base entries to support operational excellence.
- Perform necessary upgrades to maintain optimal security and operational functionality.
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to evaluate and recommend infrastructure hardware and software solutions.
- Provide support for Virtual Machines (VM) and execute Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance.
- Create, implement, and manage Group Policy Objects (GPO).
- Upgrade server and workstation operating systems to current versions.
- Facilitate application upgrades (e.g., Med365/M365, Adobe, Java) including testing and deployment of new images.
- Act as a problem management resource, offering workarounds and conducting root cause analysis related to patching and vulnerability management.
- Support management tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
- Assist with system backup and restoration processes, ensuring alignment with ITIL and industry best practices.
- Implement processes to ensure timely completion of system and infrastructure backups.
- Document all backup and restoration activities for auditing purposes.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) for backup encryption.
- Maintain and update Avaya Application Server (Red Hat Linux OS) and perform technical duties related to VOIP and custom Call Center applications.
- Monitor performance alarms, errors, and outage trends to ensure system reliability.
- Participate in project and leadership meetings to drive telecommunications initiatives.
Required:
- One or more of the following certifications (IAT II): CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP.
- Six (6) years of progressive experience demonstrating required proficiency.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven expertise in system administration, particularly in server operating systems management.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to address complex challenges.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in requirements documentation and business process modeling.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Eligibility for Public Trust or Secret Clearance.
- Experience in the Federal Consulting Industry.
- Prior support experience with DHA.
- Familiarity with portfolio acquisition and contracts management.
