Job Summary:

The Systems Administration Support/Computer Support Technician provides technical support and maintenance for telecommunications and IT systems within the 375th Cyberspace Operations Squadron (COS) and supporting units.

This role requires a strong understanding of IT principles, troubleshooting techniques, and cybersecurity best practices.

The Technician will be responsible for resolving hardware and software problems, maintaining system security, managing user accounts, and ensuring compliance with Air Force and Joint IT standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site, day-to-day assistance in maintaining telecommunications and IT systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software problems.
  • Maintain, service, and repair computer hardware, peripherals, and software.
  • Coordinate timely resolution of IT issues with various support resources.
  • Provide individual, hands-on training to users on request.
  • Assist with network accounts and passwords as required.
  • Serve as the cybersecurity liaison (CSL).
  • Serve as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
  • Monitor security of all technology.
  • Audit systems and report status.
  • Preserve information security and safeguard backups and sensitive data.
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software, and resources.
  • Adhere to AF IT asset management guidance (ITEC program).
  • Ensure stored material confidence and protection according to Air Force and Joint standards.
  • Implement appropriate back-ups, file plans, naming conventions, and storage procedures.
  • Maintain DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliance (current Security+ certification).

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant) is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience providing systems administration and computer support in a DoD or Air Force environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with Air Force and Joint IT standards.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
