Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our IT team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, workstations, and networking equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and configure computer systems, network servers, workstations, and networking equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, including endpoint and server patching, and Mobile Device Management.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to Project Team and Manager for planning/implementing of new or upgrades to IT infrastructure (hardware or software).
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, ensuring all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
  • Act as a trusted data visualization advisor to the team to drive business value.
  • Lead technology projects and collaborate with employees to determine areas of improvement in relation to data or workflow.
  • Visualize data with graphs, infographics, and other methods for better data delivery.
  • Maintain databases and data systems by addressing errors and monitoring performance.
  • Translate and convey complex technical information and procedures to audiences of varying skill levels, both written and orally.
  • Take an active role in reviewing and recommending updates/upgrades to existing systems to improve performance.
  • Actively participate in industry, COE, or other discipline-relevant groups/panels to stay ahead of industry trends and share best practices with the team.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional attitude while under stress.
  • Exhibit reliability, confidentiality/trust, and multitasking abilities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative analytics field such as Computer Science, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or another business-related subject area, or 5 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong knowledge of servers and infrastructure hardware components, including network switches, storage arrays, SAN, NAS, Firewalls, Backup systems, etc.
  • Excellent experience with Microsoft platforms: O365, Azure, Azure AD, Teams, Exchange, etc.
  • Experience with the setup and day-to-day management of VOIP phone systems.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, Hyper-V, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools.
  • Experience with patching and software deployment.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and interaction capabilities with internal and external customers.
  • Experience identifying and implementing innovative ways to address business problems and solutions.
  • Experience developing business deliverables that leverage business intelligence platforms, data management platforms, and SQL-based languages (MSSql, MySql, Tableau, etc.).
  • Experience utilizing ODBC, SQL Queries, and data visualization tools such as Excel and PowerBI.
  • Demonstrable ability to build business knowledge through significant partnerships at the individual contributor, leadership, and EMG levels.
  • Demonstrated advanced communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations to all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to embed intuitive storytelling within business intelligence solutions.
  • System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft or other network-related fields are a plus.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration environment for on-premises and cloud-based servers and applications.
  • Data Analytics or functional business experience within the respective industry of responsibility (i.e., Power, Energy, Engineering).
  • Intermediate SQL skills.
  • Advanced knowledge to influence relevant data, information, and application architecture decisions.
  • A+, Server+, Security+, and Microsoft certifications.
