Job Summary:

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a skilled TH Medical Radiographer III to join our team in the Mobile Health Program Mammography department at Stony Brook University Hospital. As a key member of our radiology team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Position patients and provide immobilization devices as needed to produce diagnostic imaging.
  • Select and operate equipment as directed, ensuring proper technical factors are applied on an individual patient basis.
  • Process exams and perform quality assurance to ensure accurate image delivery.
  • Assist physicians in the administration of opaque media when applicable and maintain a sterile environment to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Participate in the instruction of students and ancillary personnel in the school of technology and assist in the development of technical factors.
  • Conduct periodic quality control tests and participate in research in the required specialty.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records as directed and ensure the department's order and cleanliness.
  • Secure and return supplies, cooperate with all personnel, and maintain ethical relationships.
  • Adhere to hospital and departmental rules and regulations, participate in in-service programs, and maintain licensure, including BLS and AED certification.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Diagnostic Radiology Program and New York State Department of Health Licensed in Radiology Technology.
  • Current ARRT and BLS Certification.
  • Preferred qualifications include an Associate's degree, hospital experience, and bilingualism in Spanish.
