Overview:


Meta is on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Lead Technical Art Specialist who can manage a diverse range of technical art responsibilities within the game development framework.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of Maya, contemporary game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity, and be knowledgeable about current technical art methodologies and standards.

They should bring a high degree of creativity and individuality, adopt a collaborative mindset towards development, and be committed to delivering exceptional gaming experiences.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead Technical Art Specialist - Meta Duties:
Design and uphold intricate and sophisticated rigs for characters and various assets utilized throughout the game.

Assist in the creation of tools, scripts, and enhancements for workflows across different disciplines within the art team.

Develop complex materials and visual effects using node-based systems found in modern engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, etc.).


Engage directly in project development by leveraging any additional skill sets such as animation, modeling/texturing, or visual programming.

Drive performance and optimization efforts throughout the project.

Collaborate closely with Art Directors and Leads to guarantee the delivery of top-quality assets.


Exemplify inclusive behaviors to foster and support a diverse organization that values, respects, and leverages varied backgrounds and perspectives.


Essential Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in rigging and skinning using Maya or comparable 3D software.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Blueprint, or other relevant technologies.

Expertise in at least one additional skill area such as animation, material creation, visual effects, lighting, or modeling.

Proven time management abilities (for assigned tasks) and the capacity to manage substantial workloads effectively.

Proactive in driving initiatives forward.

Desirable Qualifications:

Over 5 years of experience in game development as a Technical Artist with a track record of successful game launches.

Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4/5 materials and visual effects tools.

Experience with motion capture processes within a Maya pipeline.

Knowledge of performance analytics and benchmarking tools across various platforms.

Experience in producing final assets across multiple additional art-related disciplines such as animation, modeling, or lighting.

Compensation:
$130,000/year to $180,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
