About the Role

NOLA Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled Digital Media Strategist to join our team. As the Assistant Director of Digital Media, you will play a critical role in developing and executing our district's digital communication strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Digital Media Strategy: Help create and implement a comprehensive digital media strategy that supports NOLA-PS's overall communication and branding goals.
  • Content Creation and Management: Oversee the daily development, design, and execution of all content creation, social media posts/management, multimedia materials, and website updates to ensure they align with strategic priorities.
  • Social Media Management: Develop and implement social media strategies to grow the District's social media presence, increase engagement, and promote key initiatives, while monitoring trends and analytics to adjust strategies as needed.
  • Website Management: Oversee the management and continuous improvement of the District's website, ensuring it serves as an effective communication tool for all stakeholders, and work with vendors to guide SEO strategies to improve site visibility and accessibility.
  • Crisis Communications: Execute digital response strategies during crisis situations, ensuring timely and accurate information is disseminated through appropriate digital channels.
  • Performance Analysis: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital media efforts, regularly analyze data to assess the effectiveness of campaigns, and report findings to senior leadership.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for social media campaigns, ensuring effective allocation of resources to meet strategic objectives.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff to stay current with the latest digital media trends and technologies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, digital media, or related field required.
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience with internal/external communications in varied disciplines, such as organizational communication, executive communication, and public relations.
  • Skills: Strong project management & time management skills, advanced proficiency in using digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and content management systems, exceptional technical writing, editing, and content development skills, expertise in creating social media content, increasing engagement, and executing digital campaigns.
