Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Instructional Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will provide individualized supervision and instruction to assigned students, as well as additional support to the core classroom staff. Responsibilities
  • Assist Classroom Teachers: Create a safe and welcoming atmosphere in the classroom, promoting high expectations for student learning.
  • Provide Instruction and Support: Instruct and monitor students during lessons, ensuring fidelity of instruction and utilizing strategies to assist with student learning.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students, communicating with the classroom teacher to ensure consistency and identify areas for improvement.
  • Record Student Progress: Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress, including course completion and syllabus information.
  • Manage Student Behavior: Uphold the ChanceLight philosophy and policies, applying appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary, and working collaboratively with classroom teachers to ensure consistency.
  • Support Students: Provide counseling and encouragement to students, addressing academic issues and promoting student success.
  • Participate in Meetings: Attend school meetings, student/parent meetings, and individual student advisory meetings as required.
  • Communicate with Stakeholders: Share necessary information with students, team members, supervisors, and parents regarding students' needs and academic progress.
  • Participate in Professional Development: Participate in school and district professional development days, ensuring ongoing learning and growth.
  • Respond to Feedback: Respond constructively to formal and informal feedback, using it as an opportunity for growth and improvement.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve the goals of the school.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills test.
  • Certification: Active Paraprofessional and/or PPS Certification preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children, preferably in an education and/or classroom setting.
  • Skills: Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply concepts of basic math, as well as working knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
