Position Details:- Mon-Fri (variable shifts) start time: 7am-8:30am, rotating weekends

- ARRT, CRT, BLS certs required
The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. The technologist uses specialized X-ray equipment to take images of the breast tissue and works with radiologists to interpret the results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate
- Explains mammography procedure to all patients; answers any patient questions or concerns
- Positions patients, using immobilization when necessary
- Calculates exposure factors, and assist physicians
- Performs the quality control functions related to mammography
- Evaluates radiographs for diagnostic quality obtaining additional images as needed
- Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate. Explains procedures to patients prior to start and ongoing
- Develops mammography film and match with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation
- Assists in maintenance and compilation of statistical data
- Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies and procedures
- Current State License or Certificate in state where they will be working
- One (1) year of experience as a Mammography Technician preferred.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to accurately communicate with patients
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
- Computer proficiency required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
