- Facilitate professional development sessions on health topics for staff and volunteers.
- Conduct health screenings and assessments for students and staff.
- Provide follow-up evaluations and recommendations for student health issues.
- Communicate with parents regarding their children's health needs.
- Document immunizations and other pertinent health information.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and policies at all levels.
- Prepare health reports for relevant stakeholders as required.
- Coordinate necessary medical services to support the school health program.
- Initiate changes to health programs as needed to enhance student care.
- Work collaboratively with staff to promote a healthy school environment.
- Design and deliver educational sessions for parents, students, and staff on health issues and available resources.
- Ensure that all students have current immunization records and have undergone necessary health screenings.
- Serve as a resource for health education among school staff.
- Organize health initiatives within the school and community, acting as a liaison between home, school, and health services.
- Create individualized health plans for students requiring special attention.
- Participate in the development of IEP plans when necessary.
- Review and assess students' health histories, focusing on those with chronic conditions.
- Analyze cumulative health data to address individual student needs.
- Provide ongoing health counseling to students, parents, and staff.
- Utilize available health resources to ensure effective student care.
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in Louisiana.
- Minimum of two years of RN experience.
- Preferred experience as a School Nurse.
- Experience working with children is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with complex health conditions is beneficial.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required.
- Successful completion of background checks is mandatory.
