Job Title: Direct Support Professional

At Institute for Comm Living, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and empathetic individual to provide support and services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will work in a residential setting, promoting the growth and independence of our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support and services to residents, including advocacy, encouragement, and guidance in expressing personal choice and promoting community integration.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene care, toileting, lifts, and transfers, as well as dining, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Help residents participate in games and recreational programs, coach and encourage daily living skills, and maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to carry out and record care plans, and administer medication as instructed.
  • Be prepared to act in emergency situations to ensure the health and safety of residents.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent, and a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities. You must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift bedridden and/or incapacitated individuals, as some residences may require this level of physical support.
