Job Details

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Counselor to join our team. As a member of our Integrated Health Program, you will work collaboratively with medical providers to improve the well-being of our students.

Purpose

The Integrated Health Program is a unique collaboration between the Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC) and University Health Services (UHS). Our team of mental health providers works closely with medical providers to offer comprehensive care to our students. As a Healthcare Counselor, you will provide short-term individual and group counseling, crisis interventions, and other related modalities of care.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments of students' presenting concerns and provide treatment recommendations.
  • Provide short-term individual and group counseling, as well as crisis interventions.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation of all service contacts.
  • Develop and implement programmatic interventions to address the psycho-social mental health needs of students.
  • Provide clinical consultation to others on an as-needed basis and seek consultation when appropriate.
Requirements
  • Licensed to practice independently as a Professional Counselor in Texas.
  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work, or other degree that meets eligibility requirements in Texas for licensure.
  • Two years of post-master's clinical experience in a college or university counseling center or other relevant clinical setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a high-demand setting.
  • Experience working effectively and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team integrating both a medical model and a developmental perspective.
  • Experience providing mental health consultation to other professionals.
