Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

Join the Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System team as a Certified Nursing Assistant in our Emergency Department

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide exceptional patient care in our Emergency Department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing basic personal care, obtaining vital sign measurements, and promoting quality healthcare delivery for patients admitted to our department.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides or assists patients with personal hygiene
  • Obtains vital sign measurements
  • Obtains Intake/Output
  • Performs and documents controls for point-of-care laboratory testing in accordance with regulatory compliance
  • Assists with activities of daily living
  • Assists with ambulation and/or patient transfers
  • Collects specimens for laboratory testing
  • Provides assistance with one-to-one visual observation of patients at risk for fall and/or Suicide Ideation
  • Stocks medical supply items
  • Orders patient specific supplies as needed per policy and procedure
  • Maintains clean work environment
  • Complies with Infection Control practices
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service
  • Administers care to patients as delegated and assigned by licensed nursing personnel
  • Demonstrates respect for patient rights and ensures confidentiality
  • Coordinates phone calls for Emergency Department Providers
  • Facilitates activation of established Response Teams
  • Performs clerical duties
  • May assist with bedside registration of patients entering the Emergency Department
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Currently licensed as a Nursing Assistant
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
Language Requirements:

Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently. Must demonstrate professional verbal and written communications skills.

Work Environment:

Normal to heavy work which includes the ability to lift up to 20-50 lbs. Lifting and/or transferring of patients may involve heavy lifting. Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office or medical equipment.
