We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at OrthoIllinois. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our physicians and patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical duties, including taking vital signs, setting up and assisting with minor procedures, and preparing patients for exams.
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, such as injections, casting, and wound management.
- Prepare charts and documents for upcoming clinics and procedures.
- Retrieve and enter patient data for MRIs, X-Rays, and other diagnostic tests.
- Coordinate surgery scheduling and ensure timely rooming of patients.
- Provide patient education and support related to treatment recommendations.
- Assist with ordering medications and diagnostic testing.
- Scribe for physicians and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous and pharmaceutical waste.
- Stay up-to-date on required trainings and certifications, including OSHA, HIPAA, and CPR.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or ability to obtain Registered Orthopedic Technician (ROT) certification within 6 months.
- One year of experience in a similar role preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suites preferred.
This position is based in an office/clinic setting and requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. The ideal candidate will possess excellent vision, hearing, smell, and balance, and be able to lift, carry, or move heavier objects (up to 100 pounds) and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
