As a Field Equipment Technician with MYR Group, you will have the opportunity to travel to various project sites within the designated service area, providing essential support to our field teams. Your expertise will be utilized to conduct maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel throughout Northern California, Oregon, and Washington states to project locations, ensuring the effective operation of equipment.
- Respond to emergency situations outside of regular working hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Utilize independent judgment to perform mechanic assignments, applying procedures and practices to specific work situations.
- Conduct a full range of servicing and repairs on various types of fleet equipment, diagnosing malfunctioning parts and systems.
- Maintain accurate records of time and materials used, equipment condition, and repairs performed.
- Participate in training programs and stay current with hazardous material training requirements.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a minimum of five years of experience in heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair. Equivalent trade school or technical school experience may be considered. Completion of a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair, along with four years of experience, is also acceptable.
Additional qualifications include:
- Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment daily.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
- Solid experience with mechanical tools, materials, and testing equipment.
- Strong understanding of maintenance and repair processes for vehicles and equipment.
