Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a District Field Services Director. This role will serve as a key liaison between county Farm Bureaus and the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation, promoting membership and benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to county Farm Bureaus with timely and effective communications to their members.
  • Serve as a point of contact for the use of One Call Now system and provide input on its use.
  • Assist with urgent communication to county Farm Bureaus as needed.
  • Help distribute federation information to county Farm Bureaus and large groups of members.
  • Participate in regular meetings with district field services directors and Communications Department staff.
  • Work with Communications staff on projects relevant to county Farm Bureaus.
  • Identify contacts for member magazine and Real Virginia TV show content.
Additional Duties
  • Assist county Farm Bureaus with membership acquisition and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with the County-State Memorandum of Agreement within the district.
  • Assist county Farm Bureaus with implementing policies and programs.
  • Collaborate with Field Operations, Sales, and local county boards on initiatives to improve county office relationships.
  • Mediate and resolve disputes between insurance company and county boards.
  • Attend county board meetings, conferences, and conventions.
  • Deliver accurate information requests for assistance/member action to county Farm Bureau organizations, leaders, and staff.
  • Counsel county Farm Bureaus on effective administration and supervise their recordkeeping systems.
  • Serve as a field representative for all economic and marketing service programs.
  • Provide and/or coordinate training for county leadership and county office staff.
  • Coordinate insurance activities and issues with Regional Sales Managers, Field Operations Managers, and Agency Managers.
  • Ensure county office staff adheres to best office management practices.
  • Ensure operational needs of county offices are met regarding repairs, equipment, supplies, and grounds.
  • Assist county Farm Bureaus in planning activities relating to local issues.
  • Work closely with the Women's Leadership and Young Farmers' committees to support program goals.
  • Conduct training to enhance leadership abilities of Farm Bureau volunteers.
  • Develop and take action to achieve individual district goals.
  • Serve on committees as needed.
Requirements
  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • High level of initiative.
  • Proven customer focus.
  • Effective verbal and written communications.
  • High degree of organization.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Technically proficient.
  • Excellent listening skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Agricultural Economics or Political Science.
  • Farming/Agriculture background.
