Olmsted Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Compliance and HIPAA Privacy Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient information.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement an effective compliance program to detect, correct, and prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
- Establish and maintain a HIPAA compliance program to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient information.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Committee, organizational leadership, and department supervisors to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Investigate alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and make independent determinations as to whether a violation occurred.
- Develop and oversee a system for uniform handling of violations, and recommend disciplinary action for code violations as per written policies.
- Provide regular reports to the Compliance Committee, Board of Trustees, and senior management on the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in an appropriate field required.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a healthcare organization required.
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred or must obtain certification within 2 years of employment.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license preferred.
