Job Title: Heavy Civil Foreman

At Hays Recruitment, we are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Foreman to oversee and manage construction activities on TxDOT road and bridge projects. This role requires extensive experience in self-performing concrete paving and a strong understanding of TxDOT standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Construction Activities: Oversee daily operations on-site, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Concrete Paving: Directly manage and perform concrete paving tasks, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to project specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety regulations, including OSHA standards, to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Team Management: Lead and coordinate a crew of workers, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Equipment and Materials Management: Ensure proper use and maintenance of construction equipment and materials.
  • Quality Control: Monitor work quality and make necessary adjustments to meet project requirements.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress, and any issues encountered on-site.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on roads and bridges.
  • Concrete Paving: Proven experience of self-performing concrete paving.
  • TxDOT Projects: Familiarity with TxDOT standards and specifications.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification, TxDOT certification.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
