Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of heavy equipment operators, laborers, and other construction personnel.
- Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement plans to improve construction efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily reports, time sheets, and inventory management.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and operated in a safe and efficient manner.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of construction personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree in construction management or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a proven track record of supervisory experience.
- Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and direct construction personnel.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex construction issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and materials, with a physical ability to work in a construction environment.
Working Conditions:
The work environment/physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high and/or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
