Position Summary

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to deliver Structural Engineering design support for various projects, including Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build initiatives. This role will focus on efforts undertaken by NAVFAC Pacific, specifically within the Planning Design and Construction Directorate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct structural analysis and design for various systems, including vertical and lateral force resisting systems, retaining structures, and waterfront structures, adhering to DoD UFC and industry standards such as the International Building Code (IBC) and ASCE 7.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project scope, schedules, and budgets align with customer requirements.
  • Minimize project delays by providing timely technical reviews and recommendations.
  • Research and interpret codes, policies, and regulations to offer sound technical advice.
  • Apply innovative engineering principles to resolve technical challenges.
  • Engage with government clients, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project success.
  • Organize and lead meetings, providing clear communication and documentation of discussions and decisions.
  • Review technical documents, ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Support construction field activities and provide technical guidance for commissioning plans and inspections.
  • Prepare summaries of project accomplishments for weekly and monthly reporting.
Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Security Clearance: Secret (Tier 3 preferred) or the ability to obtain.
  • Proven experience in structural analysis and design using relevant codes and standards.
  • Strong foundation in engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing reports and briefings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and/or Revit.
  • Ability to adapt to new software tools as necessary.
  • P.E. license is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience & Education
  • Minimum of 6 years in Design Management or Design roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus from an accredited institution.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain stationary for at least 60% of the time.
  • Capable of operating standard office equipment.
  • Light lifting capabilities (under 10 lbs).
