Engine Operator II

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and operate engines under test conditions for our clients.
  • Execute stationary engine testing procedures in line with detailed written protocols, either manually or through an automated electronic data acquisition/control system.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on engines and testing apparatus.
  • Identify and rectify engine and instrumentation issues using effective troubleshooting techniques.
  • Assist technical staff in developing work instructions as needed.
  • Ensure test parameters (temperatures, pressures, flow rates, etc.) are maintained within established limits, utilizing computerized control systems when necessary.
  • Record and adjust parameters such as blow-by, EGR, AFR, and oil dip levels as required.
  • Collect, label, and submit oil and fuel samples for analysis.
  • Conduct daily cleaning duties to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an Engine Operator I.
  • Approval as a trainer on 6+ test types by technical staff.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools.
  • Availability for overtime assignments on short notice.
  • Adherence to safety practices and policies to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
  • Possess fundamental technical and administrative skills necessary for job duties.
  • Customer-focused and quality-driven.
  • Willingness to travel as business needs arise.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with flushes and starts on FLSPI and GMLSPI.
  • 6+ months of automotive experience is desirable.
