We are seeking an experienced Steamfitter Pre-Apprentice who shares our values and is eager to learn a trade that will last a lifetime.
Job Overview
This role involves working alongside accomplished tradespeople to develop skills and knowledge that will enable you to become a skilled Steamfitter.
You will assist in the layout, assembly, installation, piping systems, pipe supports or related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment, use hand torches and furnaces, position, align and fit parts together, hammer, chip and grind work pieces to cut, bend and straighten metal, deliver materials to job sites, and assist with loading, unloading and organized storage of materials.
Requirements
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Good communication and analytical skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to obtain passing scores on the Accuplacer and show strong ACT scores
- Mechanical competence and strong reading comprehension
- Physical ability to climb, crawl, lift heavy items and work in various environments, including indoor/outdoor, hot/cold weather, confined spaces, heights etc
