Job Summary:

As an Insurance Placement Specialist/Marketing Team Lead at USI Holdings Corporation, you will be responsible for managing the operational activities of the New Business Regional Marketing Specialist unit/department. Your primary goal will be to actively market new prospective client accounts to carrier partners, support commercial lines sales associates, and provide marketing analytics. You will also be responsible for negotiating carrier coverages and finalizing the marketing and client onboarding process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead in marketing and negotiating insurance placements, middle market prospects, and clients in the region.

• Work with production, operations, and tech resources in developing specifications, submissions, and negotiating with markets.

• Accountable for full-cycle recruitment, management, and development of assigned team, including monitoring staffing and workload, training, coaching, and performance management.

• Monitor team's adherence to service standards through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting.

• Produce and monitor various monthly reports to ensure all new business has been addressed in a timely manner, including post-binding activities, team members' open items, workloads, and backlog.

• Perform periodic quality audits, when necessary.

• Provide technical expertise in coordinating the service of new clients, including sales, account development, and problem-solving, in accordance with client objectives, standards of service, and USI best practices.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in USI's proprietary platform and solutions, including the stewardship process.

• Contribute information and ideas during strategy meetings.

• Occasional outside visits to prospects as needed.

• Work closely with sales associates to understand prospects' commercial lines insurance needs.

• Develop submissions to carriers and obtain quotes, respond to underwriters' inquiries, and negotiate terms with carriers on behalf of prospects.

• Finalize the marketing process and prepare appropriate proposal presentations.

• Bind coverage for clients and execute client onboarding process.

• Develop knowledge of insurance markets on behalf of USI.

• Develop relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives.

• Serve as a technical expert on market trends, pricing practices, and other underwriting policies.

• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management and document management systems.

• Keep current with industry, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology.

Requirements:

• 6-7 years + experience in commercial property & casualty insurance agency.

• Comprehensive understanding of all property & casualty insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.

• Prior marketing and negotiating experience with insurance carriers and communicating with producers required.

• College degree preferred.

• Prior managerial experience preferred, with the ability to manage others effectively.

• Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license.

• Industry designations such as ARM, CIC, and CPCU preferred.

• Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.

• Working knowledge of internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.

• Knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight preferred, but not required.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.

• Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

• Maintain relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Salary Range:
$115-120K
