Job Summary:

The Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Stroke Center, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the interdepartmental process development and/or improvements that impact the Stroke Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stroke/neuro-endovascular physicians, unit staff, and other team members to establish relationships with related physicians/professionals or other health-related groups within the community.
  • Perform oversight of the stroke program and assist in the development, maintenance, and updating of all AMC policies, procedures, orders sets, plans of care, teaching materials, and documentation as they relate to the Stroke Program.
  • Communicate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure 24/7 capability of caring for acute stroke patients.
  • Serve as a leader in the community for the creation and maintenance of a Comprehensive Stroke Program.

Requirements:

  • Registered Professional Nurse with experience in stroke care.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards such as the Joint Commission, NYS Department of Health, Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services, and the American Heart Association.
