About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Planning Director to join our team in the Midwest. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for advancing our practice in the region and leading business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee business development initiatives and support proposals
  • Represent the firm within the transportation industry
  • Recruit staff and maintain company culture
  • Lead complex transportation projects and manage schedules and budgets
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, or a related field
  • Minimum 12 years of planning experience, with at least 5 years of experience pursuing and winning work
  • Experience mentoring and managing staff teams, including managing workloads and coaching
  • Demonstrated success managing complex transportation projects and managing schedules and budgets
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interest in multimodal and active transportation planning and design
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to develop new techniques and lead projects in new practice areas
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate and mentor people and teams with diverse life experiences and expertise
