Job Overview: Hendrick Motorsports, a premier NASCAR operation, is seeking an experienced Performance Engineering Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and improving automotive racing components and systems to enhance vehicle performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage various projects related to design and performance of race car components and systems.
  • Trackside Support: Support trackside testing and racing efforts.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and interpret data to provide recommendations for improving vehicle performance.
  • Engineering Principles: Apply engineering principles to enhance vehicle design and performance.
  • Car Setup and Testing: Assist in car setup, testing, and analysis as needed.
  • Design Alterations: Alter and modify designs to achieve specified functional and operational performance.
  • Simulation and Data Analysis: Utilize simulation software and statistical data to optimize vehicle performance and fuel efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a related race engineering position with prior racing experience.
  • Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills, with experience in engineering software such as MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to travel extensively, work a flexible schedule, and lift up to 50 pounds. Requires vision, sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $125,000 - $175,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Hendrick Motorsports offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
