Job Title: Certified Nurse Aide

Hiring CNA's with a Sign on Bonus of $3,000 for Full-time employment. Additional incentives include $600 after 90 days in good standing, followed by $600 every quarter until paid out.

Position Purpose:

Ensure that residents' personal care needs are met in accordance with their wishes and care plan objectives.

Essential Functions:
  • Answer signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine residents' needs and ensure call lights are within reach.
  • Check frequently on residents who are unable to call for help.
  • Provide direct resident care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Explain procedures to residents.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living.
  • Assist with bowel and bladder functions.
  • Assist with lifting, positioning, and transporting residents.
  • Provide incontinent care as needed.
  • Dress residents appropriately for the current weather.
  • Notify Supervisor if resident needs clothing.
  • Change bed linens.
  • Handle linens according to infection control guidelines.
  • Feed residents requiring help and record meal intake.
  • Deliver and document all snacks and supplements.
  • Offer fluids to residents frequently to ensure hydration.
  • Review and implement daily nursing needs as outlined by resident care plan or nurse managers.
  • Transport residents or assist with mobility needs.
  • Turn and reposition bedfast residents.
  • Take and record temperatures, blood pressure, pulse rates, respiration rates, height, weight, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
  • Monitor resident activities and report any irregularities to nurse managers.
  • Participate in and receive nursing report upon reporting and departing to/from work.
  • Report all changes in residents' conditions to Supervisor.
  • Clean instruments and equipment and return to proper area after use.
  • Maintain cleanliness of residents' units, central bathing area, treatment and supply rooms, workrooms, and linen closets.
  • Provide post-mortem care as instructed.
  • Accurately record all care as directed.
  • Participate in and attend periodic in-services and staff meetings.
  • Understand and adhere to the guidelines of 'Residents' Rights.'
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education/Requirements:

Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff. Ability to speak, read, and write English. Prior experience as LTC nursing assistant preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of State Approved Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program. Good standing in the state registry is required.
