Position Overview

AR Consultants, Inc. (ARC) is a specialized consulting firm in the field of archaeology. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative work environment. We are currently seeking an HR Operations Specialist to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role will primarily involve office-based responsibilities and will report directly to the operations manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop job advertisements and perform initial candidate screenings.
  • Facilitate the hiring and onboarding processes for new staff members.
  • Manage the offboarding process for departing employees.
  • Oversee time sheet accuracy using Harvest software.
  • Administer payroll functions through ADP.
  • Coordinate benefits administration in collaboration with the operations manager.
  • Maintain both physical and electronic employee records.
  • Stay informed on all relevant federal, state, and local HR legislation.
  • Revise employee handbook policies as necessary.
  • Communicate HR-related legislative updates to staff and management.
  • Organize and/or deliver employee safety training sessions as required.
  • Assist project managers with employee scheduling and coordination tasks.
  • Mediate conflicts between employees as needed.
  • Monitor and implement employee corrective actions in conjunction with management.
  • Address HR inquiries from all levels of personnel.
  • Manage employee relations, including receiving and addressing complaints or concerns.
  • Conduct reference, background, and motor vehicle record checks.
  • Support the management team during annual employee performance evaluations.
  • Assist with workers' compensation claims as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on the candidate's skill set.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the human resources field.
  • Current PHR or SPHR certification is required.
  • Proficient in computer usage for extended periods.
  • Experience with ADP, Harvest, and Slack is preferred.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
  • Thorough understanding of HR laws applicable to organizations of varying sizes.
  • Exhibit a positive demeanor, empathy, and integrity.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in companies that manage offsite or outdoor teams.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
