You will be responsible for managing Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, DNS, DHCP, and ADFS, as well as experience managing ADFS and directory sync into Azure AD.

Additionally, you will have experience utilizing various backup software in a virtualized environment like Veeam, and knowledge in VMware infrastructure with multisite replication and SRM. You will also have general knowledge of Cloud technologies, Networking, TCP/IP, and networking protocols (NFS, CIFS, SMB2).

The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills to meet schedules and timelines, and be able to work independently and produce deliverables to manage deadlines. You will also have strong coordination and planning skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building, managing, configuring and monitoring windows core and infrastructure
  • Supporting Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and Windows 10 in an Active Directory environment
  • Managing Microsoft Active Directory services, including all aspects of Active Directory user account maintenance
  • Supporting and managing file and printer services provided to the users
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of continuing developments in the field of Computer Security
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to recommend process improvements, choose effective solutions, and solve problems
  • Following Change Management process for all changes to production systems, including documenting all changes made to systems
  • Providing end-user support, which includes the resolution of support tickets assigned to the department
  • Maintaining broad technical knowledge of current and emerging technologies

Requirements include:

  • Minimum of a BS in Computer Science or equivalent plus 2 years experience in Microsoft Systems Administration
  • Microsoft certification a plus
  • Ability to perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of windows systems
  • Strong knowledge of setting up, maintaining, and monitoring system hardware in data centers with minimal guidance
  • Strong knowledge managing Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, DNS, DHCP, and ADFS
  • Experience managing ADFS and directory sync into Azure AD
  • Experience utilizing various backup software in a virtualized environment like Veeam
  • Knowledge in VMware infrastructure with multisite replication and SRM
  • Familiarity in working with relational database management systems (SQL, MySQL)
  • General knowledge of Cloud technologies, Networking, TCP/IP, and networking protocols (NFS, CIFS, SMB2)
  • Effective organizational skills to meet schedules and timelines
  • Ability to work independently and produce deliverables to manage deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and balance priorities with good time management skills
  • Strong coordination and planning skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of university personnel and students
