About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Access Supervisor to join our team at Augusta Health. As a Patient Access Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient access services, including patient scheduling, registration, and other upfront revenue cycle job duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Accuracy and Compliance: Ensure the accuracy of data collection and entry into our Health Information System, adhering to all regulatory guidelines and requirements.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Assign and direct work, staff scheduling and timekeeping, interviewing, recommending for hiring, training, performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees, providing guidance and mentoring of new and/or existing staff with daily work effort and proper handling of accounts.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with clinical/technical departments to ensure timely throughput of patients.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Certifications: CHAA (Certified Healthcare Assess Associate) through NAHAM within 1 year of hire. CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manager) preferred.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of healthcare revenue cycle related experience including knowledge of health insurance and applicable laws/regulatory guidelines. Two (2) years in a leadership or management related position.
  • Skills: Healthcare information (computer) systems experience (required). Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of healthcare terminology.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to manage very busy patient-facing access points. Ability to manage staff schedules to patient volume demands. Ability to problem solve and manage patient complaints at time of service and at department level. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrates leadership abilities and meets deadlines. Innovative thinking. Is an agent for change and has a positive, patient centric attitude.
