We are seeking a skilled and compassionate healthcare professional to join our team at Duke University. As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team providing direct patient care services in the Hematologic Malignancy and Cellular Therapy outpatient clinic.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have exceptional internal medicine skills and oncology experience, as well as strong communication and analytical thinking skills. You will be responsible for promoting high standards of patient care throughout the continuum of cancer diagnosis, including eliciting detailed and accurate patient histories, performing thorough physical examinations, ordering diagnostic imaging and tests, and formulating treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and maintain high standards of patient care throughout the continuum of cancer diagnosis.
  • Elicit detailed and accurate patient histories and perform thorough physical examinations.
  • Order appropriate diagnostic imaging and tests to determine medical and post-treatment diagnoses, patient conditions, and treatment toxicities.
  • Formulate appropriate treatment plans with critical thinking skills and high-level clinical judgment, including prescribing medications.
  • Chart patient progress, maintaining detailed and accurate health records.
  • Participate in clinical research projects and understand the importance of documenting toxicities and data collection.
  • Communicate effectively among multi-disciplinary teams to support patient care.
  • Collaborate, support, and build strong relationships with supervising physicians, APP colleagues, and team members.
Requirements
  • Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Physician Assistants: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program; Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Current licensure and certification as a NP or PA-C in North Carolina.
  • 1+ years of APP experience strongly preferred.
Benefits
