**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Conduct minor repairs and oversee the daily repair, enhancement, and preventive maintenance of the facilities, equipment, and grounds; coordinate and manage external repair, maintenance, and construction services in accordance with established procedures; may also perform and supervise floor care activities.
  • Lead maintenance personnel in the daily operations of assigned areas. Assign tasks and prioritize workloads. Onboard new staff and participate in the recruitment and selection process. Communicate policies and provide assistance and coaching as necessary.
  • Monitor work assignments, offer constructive feedback, assess performance, and implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Maintain records, manage budgets and supplies, and fulfill responsibilities as the department head.
  • Ensure that equipment and workspaces are clean, safe, and organized; strictly adhere to procedures regarding cleaning agents or hazardous materials; ensure compliance with Universal Precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety, and sanitation practices; promptly address any hazardous conditions and equipment.
  • Follow company policies regarding all safety and infection control procedures, including the proper use of mechanical lifts, gait belts, and personal protective equipment.
  • Adhere to standard Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for electrical repairs.
  • Attend and engage in educational activities, in-service training, and staff meetings; assist in the orientation and training of other staff members.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
  • Strong preference for maintenance experience in a healthcare facility
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry repairs or equivalent technical knowledge or licensing.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
  • Strong working knowledge of Life Safety code regulations relevant to the healthcare sector.
  • Familiarity with State and local building code regulations.
  • Ability to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to collaborate effectively with other team members.
  • Basic understanding of computer technology.
  • Must meet all local health regulations and pass a post-employment physical exam if required, including drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference checks.
  • Availability to respond to after-hours and weekend calls (24/7).
