Cardiac Care Unit Advanced Practice Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant to join our team in the Cardiac Care Unit at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice protocols.
Responsibilities- Provide medical assessments, treatments, and clearances for patients, employees, and external customers, adhering to regulatory standards and company policies.
- Deliver clinical care that reflects current medical standards, NJ Board of Medical Examiners regulations, and HMH policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, facilitating patient teaching and support programs.
- Evaluate current protocols and standards of care, translating best practices into clinical practice.
- Apply evidence-based practices to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Prescribe medications, recommend over-the-counter medications, and initiate laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to achieve results.
- Document findings, recommendations, and education accurately and systematically.
- Participate in continuing education and maintain documentation of personal development.
- Provide culturally diverse and educationally appropriate education to patients and families.
- Serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff, patients, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Participate in policy and procedure reviews to update with current evidence-based and value-based practices.
- Identify and address clinical, process, and system opportunities for improvement.
- Promote a collaborative work environment that supports the organizational mission, behavior expectations, and values.
- Promote innovation within clinical practice by seeking opportunities to bring new clinical knowledge into practice.
- Identify and coordinate interdisciplinary collaborative meetings to resolve ethical care issues.
- Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing.
- Masters Degree.
- Maintains clinical competencies through continuing educational programs and clinical practice.
- Experience in relevant patient care setting or as regulations dictate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Prepared Advanced Practice Nurse.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.
Licenses and Certifications:
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Certification (with Master's Degree).
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
