Hiller Aviation Museum is seeking a seasoned professional to serve as the Vice President of Development. This key leadership position will be responsible for driving the museum's institutional fundraising efforts, with a primary focus on major gift programs for capital projects and annual support.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Fundraising Planning: Collaborate with the Executive Team and Board of Directors to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, including projected revenues and expenses.
- Cultivation and Solicitation: Develop and implement effective cultivation strategies to progress prospects toward solicitation and closure of major gifts, including stewardship and management of existing donors.
- Leadership and Management: Direct the Development department staff and activities involved in ongoing operational fundraising efforts, including sponsorships, annual campaigns, fundraising events, and membership programs.
- Volunteer Engagement: Recruit, develop, and orient volunteers to assist in fundraising activities in coordination with the Executive Team and Board of Directors.
- Board Support: Assist in recruiting new Board members and Board Committee members.
- Proven Fundraising Track Record: A proven track record of accomplishment in fundraising with a highly-respected non-profit organization in the Bay Area, with particular focus on Silicon Valley and the Peninsula.
- Major Gifts Success: Major gifts success across corporate, corporate foundation, and family foundation communities, as well as individual donor communities.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to organize and engage Boards and an Executive team in enthusiastically implementing fundraising strategies.
- Relationship Building: Exceptional relationship building skills, high energy, and self-confidence, with a collaborative style and reputation.
- Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree in a related field, with advanced education preferred. Likely, a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and/or a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification.
